Black Beauty II

by pgweber

Already posted last week with her Northbound journey, Ex LMS 4-6-2 No. 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' returned the same day via the Settle-Carlisle route. This was the Liverpool-Carlisle day-trip of 24th July 2010.

She is seen approaching the Ais Gill summit from the North, in typical Pennine weather.

Shot as PEF with K10D/16-45 & converted in Silkypix.

Yuo do do the Choo-Choo's so well; I love this one, takes me back to yesteryear.
Best Regards, Larry.

All the gear & no idea.

Classic location for train photography on the Settle and Carlisle railway Peter. You've caught the black Duchess to perfection. That bridge in your picture is where I shot Leander from a few days later.

Thanks for the compliments, Larry and David.

Bit different weather compared with my 'Puffing Princess' shot at the start of my gallery, David. That and this shot were both taken in late July/early August.

I am interested to see what you got from the 8F, David.

I posted the 8F on here on July 25 and a mono version on July 26 Peter. They are both of it coming south at Kirky Stephen although I got shots earlier in the day northbound at Appleby and soutbound near Langwathby.

Apologies David.

A mental blind spot on my part, as I even commented on the colour version.

I put it down to being on holiday midweek to midweek and becoming temporarily disorientated!
