Briefly Encountered
by pgweber
A short visit to Milford Junction found that the 5.40 to Churley and 5.43 to Ketchworth have been gone for nearly three quarters of an hour.
I did not get any grit in my lens nor bid anyone farewell, but I wish it had been a winter evening to add atmosphere.
Still a delightfully evocative location despite some of the modern trappings.
Carnforth station with it's restored clock which featured in 'Brief Encounter', shot as a PEF with K10D/16-45 last week.

A timeless (get the pun?) railway scene, you can almost smell the coal smoke, hot oil and steam.

Paul, maybe you are thinking of the 1825 (SX), which was still in the platform (held due to a late Northbound service on the main line) or did you mean the 1822 (SO)? - echoes of Neville Shunt here
The refreshment room is a nice recreation, but it was shut by the time I called.

Nice shot Peter. The light and dark parts are well balanced. I like the shadow of the barrier on the wall.
