Winter morning on the Thames
by Davidoff
Hurrying to work one morning, I could see the sun reflected low in the water of the Thames. Unable to resist this, I stopped and found a perfect spot for this picture. The striations in the water are reflections of vapour trails in the sky left by overflying jets.

Great tones in this mono conversion and I like the silhouettes of the trees and landing stage. There's good detail in the sky as well. Overall its very effective but as Darkmunk says it needs levelling in Photoshop.

It's astonishing how easy it is to miss something so obvious. Thanks for the critique Darkmonk; I'll be watching out for this in future. I have since levelled the pic, but as this meant losing some detail at the sides, I decided to paint it back into the blank areas to maintain the aspect ratio. I'll be uploading the result soon, but this time in the original colour.
