Fabulous shot with incredible detail in the feathers and an absolutely gorgeous background.

Definitely jealous and puts my recent efforts with birds in the garden to shame!

Would like to know more: e.g. lens used, with or without tripod and where you and the camera were in relation to the bird when shot.

Best wishes,

Jon

Well, Tomkeet!

Sharp, super colours, in both bird & background,
& so evocative of the young of the species!

One of the Best!

Jon, it's the DA 60-250mm from inside the garden Hide (Shed) through glass with a tripod and very close.

Correct John, I was able to "borrow it" off my better half as she was out!

Thanks for the additional info', Tom, which now presents me with a crushing dilema: should I continue as planned and scrimp and save for a DA* 300mm or switch tack and go for the 60-250! Suggestions, but preferably cash contributions, welcomed.

"...from inside the gaden shed through glass..."

Please let me know which product you are using to clean your shed window as I wish to purchase some for use on my lenses and filters

Jon,
For reach go for the DA* 300mm it's a cracking lens. I mainly use it and my better half mainly uses the DA* 60-250mm which gives versatility with great quality.
Sorry no cash contributions but try "Auto Glyn Car Glass Polish" for shed windows.
