I really like this picture. The almost empty street and the fallen bicyle really create a drama to the photo. In my opinion, the removal of the figure on the left would further enhance the drama. Good photo.

At one time I'd have wanted an empty street but these days I like to include one person, or an odd numbered group. I probably even waited for the man to come into shot. Here's another taken on the same morning in Bern with one man - I could have waited a few seconds for him to go but I like him there.

It's not HDR, just 16-bit Photoshop with some selective lighting adjustments that I'm not completely happy with. For instance, I've lightened the road a bit to help guide the eye towards the Zytglogge clock tower. I would have liked to get more of the Zytglogge but I couldn't find an angle that worked, bearing in mind there's a big fountain sitting half way up the road. I also added a slight hard light emboss to the foreground at about 90 degrees - it probably doesn't show up in the Gallery sized photo but it accentuates the horizonatals a little.
I definitely have a thing for bicycles - I'll upload another one of a street and a bicycle at the weekend. No, I didn't push it over. Who knows what the penalities are for pushing over a bicycle in Switzerland. It might have created some big international incident.
I submitted this in a novice class competition at my local photographic soc. The judge said it was "not quite there yet", which I think is fair. He liked the man but didn't like the upright bike, saying it's a visual block. It just shows how everyone views things slightly differently.

I disagree the figure is great in the picy and adds more of a story to the shot. Well spotted and taken.
