On a beautiful summers morning LNER A4 Class 4-6-2 no 60009 Union of South Africa storms the gradient to Earlestown with "The North Wales Coast Express". Probably the last pre electrification image from this spot.

A great photo, captured in all its glory.
I don't think we have ever seen this loco on the South Coast, however her 'sister' loco A4 60019 Bittern (currently re-numbered & painted as Dominion of New Zealand) was used last week to haul the Dorset Coast Express from London to Weymouth.
