I like it better in colour - there's more detail / patina in the old metal.

Yes, it does look like a Halloween face. I see it, also.
BTW - I knew that I recognized the Sheffield name. Was noted for the Steel that was/or still is made there. Steel over here in the USA is not what it used to be. There are a number of Steel Plants around the Country, but not as many as before. USA made Steel is much more expensive than what is produced in other Country's. One of them was the huge Bethlehem Steel Plant not far from here. Now, all that is left are empty buildings and cold coke ovens. It's a shame that such a major producer of steel like this, has gone forever.
