I can stare at them for hours. And take photos haha. Not sure if that's normal. Awesome one either way

Excellent detailed picture. Do you mind me asking which lens you used and how far from the subject you were? I am trying to decide on a new telephoto. Thanks.

Hi Graham. Thanks for your nice comment. 😀Excellent detailed picture. Do you mind me asking which lens you used and how far from the subject you were? I am trying to decide on a new telephoto. Thanks.
The lens I used here is the Pentax HD DA 55-300mm f/4-5.8 ED WR .
I purchased it new from B&H Photo in December last year for $255 US.
I must say that for the price, I am very impressed with this lightweight inexpensive lens. I took lots of great bird and squirrel pics over the winter with this lens...you can check them out in my portfolio. All photos have pp applied including some heavy cropping. I have also noticed that several others on the forum have and are enjoying this lens as well.
This particular squirrel pic was taken from about 40 - 50 feet away.
Best to you in your lens search. 😄
Cheers...Donna 😊

Cool guy! A fun image.
I like the contrast between the bark of the tree and the fur of the squirrel.
Well done and well taken Donna , Bravo !
