Before the Rain

by davidstorm

This was before I got wet. I was laid down on this rocky ledge being battered by winds which must have been 70-80mph, holding down my tripod to stop it blowing away.

Another extremely pleasant compo, vibrantly presented. Great conditions and hard learned skills takes this latest batch up a level.

Great contrast between the clouds and the light on the moor.

Was this with your soft 0.6 grad, David? You've convinced me I need to get serious about grads

Yup! Lovely foreground interest leading your eye inwards. Lovely dark sky against light earth. Must be a very fit davidstorm with all this exercise/walking/activity. Photography, sport or hobby....the way to exercise and stay healthy. Well that's unless you take candids in pubs and clubs

Superb lighting David - sounds like it was a very challenging image to take but the end result is so worth it.

A grand and gliding journey beckons the eyes into the distance. The omnipotent clouds are juxtasposed well with the interplay of soothing patched of transient light falling upon the hillsides. It reminds me of time spent in the wonderful Peak District in all its moods
