Thank you all, i myself am torn between the 2. Composition I think this wins, Star effect, the other. Guess it means im going to have to have another try

These are fantastic. You put a lot of theoretical work in first and it paid off. One thing no-one has mentioned is the strengthening of the composition you have acquired from the (implied) revolution of the windmill's sails. Had that been an impressive tree standing there it wouldn't have carried the same mental effect.

I like the lead in of the path but..........the grass, it's a bit too bright for me, fighting for my attention with the main event in the middle and top of the picture. If I were lucky (clever) enough to have created this I think I'd either drag a grad filter up over the grass and darken it down a little and or crop a small amount off the bottom.
Both photographs are great and I'm so impressed that you did them in camera. I'm going to have a go.
