Our favourite Winter friend again, in the scrub, perched on a rose stem.

I like the contrast of the delicate robin with the spiralling thorns - great composition.

Robin shots are ten a penny but when they are done to this standard they are a joy to view. Light and depth of field magnifique.

Thank you to you all for the comments. It's all the more gratifying to receive good feedback on a shot taken with this lens as it takes much more work to get a decent image from it than it does with any modern prime or zoom. However, when it works, it takes images that can't be matched for atmosphere with any of my modern glass. It's a bit like an old friend, you get to know it and love it, you know all its faults and you learn to live with them!
Best wishes
