Lens-envy, I hope, is not one of the Deadly Sins, otherwise I'm a dead duck. Funny how all three of us make reference to your lens, Roy. But methinks there's FAR more to it than glass. Glass may be a sine qua non, but though necessary, it ain't sufficient. Like.
