Terrible lighting Senn. You could brighten the lighter tones& that would help but the lighting is still going to be pretty flat.

Ian.

Thanks for the expressive sincerity of your comment, Ian. I took more than hundred pics of the same plant just after the rain, under pretty dark day sky. The challenge was to capture max details and nuances (with a compo not too bad) including drops under these “terrible light” conditions”. Here, you can find another pic of the same plant taken last year under different circumstances.

I really don't know...there is still something about this picture that appeals to me. I like that the background is dark (clean compo). The lighting, albeit flat, is nicely even. It makes for a very "honest" photograph, and not like those pictures which, however nice, have obviously been PP'ed to death

Just my two cents

It's beautiful and sharp, I like the rain drops and i think the lighting reflects how dull the weather was.

Excellent shot, Nuri. I like its lights, colours and the composition and the DOF is set well. There was absolutely no wind?

Yes, and given tricky light conditions and narrow aperture the exposure were long (1/4s), .. and I'm not found of flash whatever surrounding light intensity. Many pics were blurred.; .. but fortunately , .. there were short moments without wind,

Thanks Gábor, for your kind comments.. cheers

I really like this senn.

Lovely clean sharp flower, great DOF, every raindrop looks like a rain drop and the dark background sets it off perfectly.

Kind regards
Charlotte

I asked it because I saw that you used long exposure time and the result was pin sharp. I'm sure you decided well when you didn't use flash. The flash would have ruined the picture IMHO.
