Pancake Race.
by Peter Elgar
a 'British Tradition' is to eat Pancakes and race along the town streets with them on Shrove Tuesday. Yesterday was the Brentwood (Essex) Pancake Race along Crown Street in the RAIN! -- There were more contestants than spectators-- I was commissioned by the re-launched Brentwood Recorder newspaper -- I was up against snappers from the Brentwood Gazette and the Enquirer ( The Yellow Advertiser did not turn up !) I was the only snapper to get the winner, Councillor Mike le Surf (Labour) as he crossed the line, using my trusty Pentax K10D and all the others with Canon and Nikon missed it !

Well timed shot, how did the others manage to miss it? Were they too busy showing each other their equipment? lol.

Nice one Peter,
Have you been in the Church, just off the high street?
That must be worthy of a snap or two on here.

This was used Front Page in the 'Brentwood Recorder'newspaper -- I saw one of the rival press snapper's results-- it was just a 'posed up'group photo before the start ( I took that as well)-- I HAVE been in St Thomas Church off the High Street many times and I did put one on here years ago taken with my 6x7 Pentax.
thanks for viewing my efforts !

Great shot - everyone in it is doing something and expressive. Really captures the moment - whacky as it may be!
