You have hit the nail on the head with this one Sally, great sharpness, great lighting, great colour, great focus, great depth of field!
Is this shot with the 55-300 lens? If so, it shows the remarkable quality this lens has.

No, this was shot with a manual lens that I kept when changing over to DSLR - a Pentax-A 1:2 50 mm.
