I do like this, but it's not quite in focus; the focus is behind the needle, towards the top right of the frame. On a shot like this, it is critical to get the focus 100% spot on. It is quite difficult to get it right, did you use Live View?

Great colours, nice details. I saw this idea somewhere on the internet but your shot is much better.

Yes I used live view. The line of the threads was not quite square on to the camera also even treading softly on the carpet tended to move the point of focus just that little bit enough to put some part out of focus. But one snaps and learns!
