Another fascinating image Spad.

I was intrigued as to how far away the Horsehead Nebula was...approx 1400 light years apparently although estimates varied from 1375-1500 light years...you just can't get the staff these days!

Anyway it works out very approximately about 8,000 Billion miles away...whats a few hundred million miles between friends?

Travelling at the speed of the fastest space probe ...Hew Horizons Pluto mission (about 36,400 MPH) it would take approx 30,480,000 years to get there...definitely too far to commute.

EDIT: my calculation out by a factor of 1000...I think!

Should be 8,000+ Trillion miles away...will have to re-programme the time machine.

Light travels rough 5.9 trillion miles in a year.... so its about 8250 trillion miles!

My furthest target photgraphed is 31 million light years from earth! That is 182,900,000 trillion miles away....

I've no intention of getting any but it demonstrates what can be done with kit that's available to the average person. Most impressive.
