If you like it, you really need to view it large for full effect.

Panorama but also minimalistic in a very well balanced composition. I like it very much.

The meandering road takes you right into the heart of the picture, super b/w shot

Almost every rule of composition has been properly used; and to great effect!

Is that IR Andrew? And were you up a volcano? Its certainly a striking picture with the road being the dominant feature.

I agree with Maria, the road takes you right through the shot, excellent. Is the white mass cloud or smoke?

Thanks everyone.

It's semi- IR, David, using one of Elements' presets. I was up a volcano (dormant!) called Samora. It's very thrilling scenery.

It's cloud just welling over the hills at about 5500ft, Malc. You drive through the mid altitude cloud and then break through into brilliant sunshine, most days. I never tire of the place.
Best wishes,

Andrew
