Moor Gold
by morpheus71
Transient golden-hour light upon Bonehill Down, Bell Tor, Chinkwell Tor & Hamel Down as clouds scud southwestwards driven by cold easterly roaring winds. An absolute joy to be in Dartmoor in such light!

Thanks very much indeed Bill It was so uplifting to see this light dancing round the various sides of the valley as the clouds raced about. The views from here, Chinkwell Tor and Hamel Down are just delightful - all fine stage sets for the theatre of moorland light.

Thanks very much Maria It's an area I return to frequently... to climb, walk or just sit an soak up the atmosphere. It's a magical place with a magnetic charm to it

Couldn't agree more. I've seen it in many 'lights' (and temperatures) but only as a visitor. You always capture this miracle on your doorstep so well

Thanks very much indeed David 😊 I'll never tire of the eastern end of Widecombe Vale, the place has a magnetic charm about it. Interlocking curves, transition zones of farming to moorland heath, fascinating plutonic forms... it's got heaps of elements that are visually intriguing as both cohesive grand vistas and as more intimate studies & abstractions. So pleased to be able to visit it often 😊
