Adam,

This is a fascinating shot.

Is this a true walled city? Folk still live there?

And where is it?

I'm amazed that there has been no expansion outside the original walls after all this time.

Mac - Sorry, it would have been helpful if I added the location in the description. The mount is a small island off the coast of Normandy in France. It is set in a huge bay with very varied tides. It is a true walled city but as France's second largest attraction most of the shops are very touristy but there are homes, churches and even a graveyard. It felt like I was in Helm's deep in the Lord of the rings film

A lovely view of the Mont, particularly with the sheep in front ! It's such a beautiful place - which is why the tourists love it
