Knuckle Hills

by Northgrain

One of the images I did for last week's competition - although not the version I ended up submitting.

My wife's knuckles taken with the DA70 Ltd with a Raynox 150 lens attached. Natural (rather flat and diffuse) light from a window, and a crumpled sheet in the background to create a 'sky' for the 'hills'.

Lindsay insisted I use her knuckles and not my own (as originally intended) as hers were 'knoblier and more like hills' . So much for producing romantic portraits of loved ones

When imagination, lighting, execution and a great set of real knuckles combine, so nice. A knockout. thanks tg

I certainly had a "wish I'd thought of that" moment when I saw your entry. Super in every way

Very interesting to see this shot. Helmut Newton (as I remember) also took pictures of hands and the thought had recently occurred to me to try it.

This is really superb Tim, it really does look like the hills! The sky is inspired, the choice of aperture is just right and the whole thing works.

Just saw this. Very late I know, but what a great idea. Very well executed. Clever stuff.
