A lovely informal portrait, David. I know what Giulio means and a square crop would work but I rather like the juxtaposition of man and painting.

Nice relaxed portrait, wouldn't it have been great if his hand had matched that of the woman in the painting

I took a series of pics here while having coffee and cakes in the Pump Rooms with my wife. I have done some in square format and they work quite well, but its time to confess. Carelessly when I shot this I cropped off the edge of the portrait on the wall which I saw as a juxtaposition to the resting pianist. Didn't notice this until it was too late to shoot it again and get it right.
Not to worry, I expect to go back next year and do it properly.

I agree a square crop would work as would one that included the whole painting and cropped a bit of top and bottom back to what you have. AND it also works for me as is! Nice one
