Further before [the other one]

Found this print in an old box. I'd forgotten that I was further back and took a couple of shots from the same pathway. I posted the favourite earlier this week. It got me thinking how we look at a bank of negs [or a series of photies on the camera screen] from the same vicinity. What makes us choose hey? Why did I not go for this alternative view? I kind of like both, so are there a lot of shots of ours that never make it for viewing that could have promise?
