I don't see a lot wrong with this Chris, maybe the center could have been a little sharper, as for the lighting i find putting the flower near a window but not to close gives a nice natural look, i never use flash on my flowers but that's just me, you can use foil or something light to give details in the dark areas, light walls help too, hope i've helped a bit.
