X-Ray

Admittedly not a brandnew idea but this photo has a special background. It was the very first shot I took with my new Pentax 100mm macro WR lense. The evening it arrived, I had to unpack and mount it and as it was far to dark for some real macro, I at least had to make this smoke picture.

• Composition
I like the box crop (many might not). The usual is to show the boundaries / extremes of the smoke plume but this tight in view works well for me.
• Background
Nice clean image with a great vivid blue which is very pleasing to the eye
• Technical
Very well executed for this type of image. Would analyse exif if available
• Craftsmanship
Great craftsmanship – good crop and excellent contrast
• Personal feelings
For this genre and subject matter the overall decorative nature puts it high in its class
