Thank you, I'm new to dslr photography, my partner just bought me a K-5. So any feedback would be much appreciated. This shot was taken on my second outing. I decided to have a play with shutter priority using my new 50mm prime, manual focus.

It's a good lens and you've done so well with it, catching the jots of sand in the air. And welcome to PU!

An excellent action shot. Your judgement of focus (especially with a manual lens) and timing of the shot is pretty near perfect.

thankyou, i had to apply some unsharp mask to pull the detail out, a bit more than normal as i put the pic on facebook, and facebooks image system is far from satisfactory, so the only way to keep the sharpness was to kill it with sharpness in PS

does anybody have a good method with resizing these size images, as i have a problem with them going blurry at say 2048 on the longest side?

As Peter says this is an excellent action picture, the dogs are pin sharp and you've captured the flying sand in fine detail. The out of focus men are a bit of a distraction, espcially as they are right on the edge of the frame. Have you thought of cloning them out?

Thanks David. Thats a good idea to clone him out, i will have to get my partner to show me how to do it as i only know the basics on photoshop. Thanks for the feedback, always appreciated.

Nice sharp shot, fine details. You did a great job.
The use of dogs' owner would have been a good idea if he would have seen fully IMHO.
