Butterfly in flight
by fritzthedog
Taken this afternoon at Tropical World in Leeds
First time I have managed to catch one in flight - light was reasonably good so cranked it up to f2/8 @ 1/1000 ISO 200
Pentax K5 + Sigma 105 macro - hand held - approx 6ft away

Very well captured Carl, incredibly sharp for a moving subject like this

Getting a sharp picture of a resting butterfly takes a lot of patience from both creatures on either side of the camera, I can only imagine how much effort went into this one! Fantastic.

I agree they're not easy even when still, fantastic capture.

Thank you all or your very kind comments. This was one of those lucky shots in that I had really gone there hoping to get some macro work in but could not really get close enough to anything on the day so decided to just try for some decent 'normal' shots.
thanks
Carl

No matter how many lenses I have owned - I have always needed just one more
