Not sure Spad...I got my labelling info direct from the RIAT site.
The aircraft itself is basically an AH-65E Guardian but as I understand will be known as an AH.2 in AAC service possibly to follow the historical UK nomenclature practice?
It's a shame they ditched the UK/French engines though for US ones.
Cheers

I am sure I read somewhere they decided to ditch the old naming convention. If you look on the British Army or MOD website, it's all AH64E... it's the same with the F35!
If you on read this PAGE, it even has it in tge same sentence....
If they have, I wish they'd go back to AH2....
I agree about the engines, and also the use of the JAGM missile. Why couldn't they integrate Brimstone on to it? It's a much more capable missile.
But...
According to a close friend, who is ex 9rgt and 1rgt ACC. The US used the AH1 as guide for the 64E. Apparently the US Army was very impressed with our version!
Plus the Wildcat... all the ACC guys call it the MK10

I thought they had dropped the AH moniker in favour of the AH64E Guardian shash????
