A Male Keeled Skimmer

by prsjnb

The presence of the orange wing spots, amongst other features, distinguishes the Keeled Skimmer from its more common and widely distributed (in the UK) 'look-alike' the Black-tailed Skimmer. This specimen was photographed at Rockford Common (NT) in the New Forest.

Lovely shot. The mixture of bronze and blue on its body is most effective. You would think a top designer was responsible.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
