BR(SR) Rebuilt Bulleid Light Pacific locomotive no 34046 Braunton has just come off Brooksbottoms viaduct and is about to dive into Brooksbottoms tunnel, Summerseat, East Lancashie Railway with the 12:50 Bury - Rawtenstall "Santa Special" on December 20th 2012. On a very dull and wet day thwe exposure was 1/200th @ f7.1 ISO1600 and set at 55mm with the 18-55mm SMC DAL f3.5 - 5.6 lens.

Thanks everyone. 34046 "Braunton" was sent to Ian Riley's works in Bury for an overhaul and should by now have completed a main line test run around the "Carnforth Loop". However, with various minor faults having showed themselves it has remained on the ELR. The main line test run will probably take place in January and if successful the loco will then return to the West Somerset Railway. There is the possiblity of an appearance at the ELR January steam gala!
