Black-headed gull rues the day it forgot to pack its RSPB Pocket Guide. Taken this morning (Jan 15) amid the frozen wastes of Kelsey Park, Beckenham. Lens: Sigma 150-500mm f5-6.3.

What a great capture! There won't be many that can compete with this in terms of the picture's subject. The only observation I have apart from this is that the photo looks a little 'over-processed'. Please correct me if I am doing you a disservice here Simon, it's just that the gull's feathers don't look quite natural.

Hardly any PP, David. I cropped out some empty background and gave the shot a quick "autocorrect", which darkened the ice, but that's all. I'm rarely adventurous with PS Elements because I don't know how!

If that's the case Simon it really is a tremendous shot. It might be the autocorrect has changed the balance slightly. In any case it is a cracking shot.Hardly any PP, David. brilliant photo Simon the reflection is perfect, think i'm definatly going to get the sigma 150mm-500mm
