zx 50 date model-how disable?

my owners manual tells me to remove the separate date (cr 2025) battery from the back of the camera-i take it that this will disable the date stamp which appears on all pictures. i am in a camera club and cannot enter film that is date stamped. is there any other way to disable this feature without removing battery? i hate to play with those small screws and electronic parts if i don't have to. thanks in advance.

Usually, if you enter blank values for the date, such as --/--/---- then nothing will appear on the film.

G'day.
press & release the Select button untill --/--/-- is displayed.
This will give you no date stamp.
