I received this reply from another section of the forum and repeat it here in case I posted in the wrong place. The original question was why the camera sometimes shows a battery depleted message when fully charged 2400 Hama are used, but identical batteries charged at the same time work OK:

"The Pentax cameras (including the *ist-D) work out what type of battery is installed by the initial voltage. Some of the Hama high capacity batteries overcharge and consequently the camera thinks they are either Lithium Ion or Alkaline batteries which are nearly dead.

"I have found no problems with the Uniross 2100mAh batteries, and reserve my Hama ones for flash gun etc."

Just noticed yesterday that Hama has launched an even more powerful battery - 2500. 7 day Shop has them plus a charger. But are they going to work in my Pentax?
