Great lights, I've got the slightly smaller CN-126.
Handy for focus testing because the light is daylight.
Better on a small tripod.
Be careful with the light level it falls as the batteries
run out.

Could this be used as a better way to light a person instead of using a flash or number of flashes to do the same job ?.

Not sure this gives out as much light as a regular flash... Certainly would be an alternative in some situations but may have some limitations that a flashgun doesn't...

Well the image above was set at the lowest setting, the highest setting us brighter than my metz 48 flash, which i very rarely use at full power.
As for batteries i am using FM50s from mynold sony camcorder which are a lot lighter than 6 aa and seem to last a long time, im getting around 2 hours continuous use from one of those.

Thats less than I thought so could you operate a lighting system from say 3 of these that would work as an alteranative to a studio lighting system.
