Kp and the old SMC-A 50mm f2 with a CPL, taken as nice and light weight. The horizon is over 20 miles away, and you can just see the Mast near Princetown. PP'd in RT but same almost as SOOC.

But if ya dunna mind me saying....

I would've closed it down a step or two, let the polariser do its job. In other words... try taking the polariser off, then meter the shot. Then stick the polariser back on, and shoot. You would then accent and get more definition of the clouds. It will also bring the blue out and give the greens a slightly darker punchier tone, that you then highlight in PP'ing.

It similar to what you'd do with a grad filter.

Thanks for the tip, more fiddling which will slow me down, swmbo ain't going to be happy....

Just take some of her favourite sweets or crisps.... then when starts give her a pack!!!

If you want a bit less fiddling about then try taking a photo at the camera recommended setting then use the EV compensation feature to drop down by -0.7 and another at -1.7 - you'll end up with 3 images that you can compare and decide which suits your eye best Don't forget to reset the EV compensation back to default!

The majority of my images are shot with a minus something compensation, on the odd occasion I have to up the exposure in PP but I feel it's good to not burn out the highlights.
