X5 Freeze problem

I have had an X5 for over a year now and have not experienced any form of lock up at all. Had a problem with my K5 locking up and unresponsive. Maybe wisdom rules and if you have the opportunity to return that would be a sensible solution for the long term. I`m saying this as removing/replacing the AA`s in the X5 is nowhere as fast as doing the battery in/out in the K5.

Thanks for the quick response. I am just worried that if they cannot replicate the problem then they will simply return the camera or do you think they are obliged to replace it ?

If the lock-up is not so insistent that they're likely to spot it when you send it in, I doubt any 'obligation' to replace exists. It might help if you can work out how many times it has happened over a period of time, and let them know (and if it's frequent, then be insistent that there is a fault). But the odd lock-up, however irritating at the time, is probably of no more concern than the odd freeze-up on a computer.

It's even covered in the instructions and the advice there is to remove the battery for a short while.
Are you storing the camera near a source of magnetism or static electricity? An example might be an unshielded speaker. That could I suppose cause a problem, cured by moving the camera away.

Thank you all for your advice - I have decided not to send the camera back but as a computer user, I realise that cameras like computers sometimes get themselves into a freeze state!
