Just to clarify, do you mean the FA28-105 (the old film one) or the new DFA28-105? I've got one of each but alas, they're both stopping here! I presume you're after the new one.
I mention it in case you didn't realise there are two varieties of it and you obtain the wrong one by mistake. The old one's OK, but not as good as the new DFA.

JAK has missed some vital bit of information - there were at least THREE versions of the FA28-105 if I recall correctly.
The first variant was a powerzoom model (ie genuine FA) and was very well regarded - better than the 28-80. Later ones weren't as highly rated (they do not have the PZ switches and the last version could be had in silver). The only snags with the original variant is their a) rarity and b) iffy build quality.
Another alternative is the FA24-90 that was introduced with the MZ-S, FAB lens.
Personally not decided which lens to get for my K-1, or whether to stick with my FA*28-70.

I notice that on the last two weekends, the K1 and several lenses were marked down until Sunday night, so worth looking at the SRS website again on Friday evening I would think.

Thanks folks, meant to say I picked up the one from Ffordes and it was mint, seems a good lens, still swithering tongiht packing though before my trip to Prague.... 24-70 or 28-105!!! Think the 15-30, 28-105 and 31 will end up in the bag...

I was going to take my K-1 plus FA*28-70 to Prague only to realise my filters wouldn't fit, they only fit 77mm which meant the K-1 stayed at home but took my recently departed Nikons instead...

Perhaps a long-shot but I'm looking for a Pentax FA 28-105 for a trip later this month where I'd rather not lug the 24-70!
Missed out on SRS having it on offer again over the weekend so looking for one used instead.
