After a couple of cancellations due to bad weather we finally had our Photographic Day at the Wolf Conservation Trust, in Beenham.
Mind you, after all the recent rain it was a bit muddy underfoot (and on the wolves' coats !)
Here is a selection from my shots, all taken on the K70 with the DA55-300PLM, hand held. Raw images developed in PSE11:-

The keepers tried to encourage the wolves to come closer to the fences by throwing small pieces of meat over into the enclosures.
This action did not go unnoticed by some airborne hunters !

The staff were very knowledgeable about the wolves and made it an excellent day out.
If you would like to visit you will need to hurry as the Trust will be closing to the public from 31st August 2018 !

All C & C welcome
Peter

Many thanks, Stuart, Mike, Chis and Peter.

I thoroughly enjoyed the day (despite the mud - which I timidly tried to keep out of !).
I'm also well pleased with the performance of the 55-300PLM which was virtually 'locked' on 300mm for most of the shots - and even then many of these have been cropped down!
Thanks again
Peter

5, 9, 13 and 14 for me.
Reaĺly good set though.
I can't remember ever hearing anything bad about that lens and I can see why.
Worth wading around in the mud for.
Good shooting
I know what i like, If not always why.

You say they are closing to the public in August. Do you have any further details on this as their website does not remark on this ?

If you check their website (www.ukwolf.org) you will notice there are no more Photographic Days advertised, although they do still have other events and public days.

It was one of their volunteers, who was showing us around on Tuesday, that said to me about 31st August.
If you want to go along I would suggest sending them an e-mail or calling them to check the story ?

Best regards
Peter

Many thanks, DSP.
The weather may have been dull but I was lucky as the wolves behaved impeccably.

Best regards
Peter
