That first shot is perfect, Colin.

It's a little known fact that coastal photography is very difficult to get right. Framing and composition can be very repetitive and then there's all those sunsets (in the west, of course)!

I prefer the initial version of 1, personally, and think the wave / cloud combination makes it.

The horse? seems a bit out of place...

The increased saturation does seem to give the shot a bit of a lift in shot 1
K10D, K5 plus plenty of clueless enthusiasm.

I rather like the horse shot, it's certainly not something you see every day! Unfortunately it is just a little too soft - looks like the focus might be behind the horse?

The first one doesn't do much for me I'm afraid. It seems technically okay but doesn't hold my attention. The 3rd one has a very nice sunset, but the foreground is a bit noisy.
