From the first shot you don't realise that the head & eyes are such a relatively very small part of this spider - unlike most where they represent a larger % of the animal. Very interesting to see.

now i remember why the missus did'nt want to emigrate a few years ago

I wondered what that noise was!
I'm OK with most spiders but that one is definitely scream worthy.
I heard the crocs and snakes are the only ones enjoying the Queensland floods.
Hope you are keeping dry.
No word from our daughter-in-law for a while. I assume she is out of internet reach, not eaten by a shark off the barrier reef or eaten by a croc in a flood while trying to get to Brisbane.
