Wide angle lens distortion

Mainly looking for the 10-20mm Siggy. While I do love the lens, I find it's a bit distorted @ 10mm in the edges. I've only had it for a few hours and it's becoming my favourite lens by a long shot.

Yes all sigma lenses are support by the program what John says, I wonder if it would also come in the new lightroom.
btw the distortion of the Sigma at 10mm is quite strange not many correction program can handle that I believe.

Which will be fantastic if your main subject happens to be test charts !
but I'd agree with Mike... learn to embrace the distortion.

Yes, if it shows I sometimes crop a little, or just shoot at 12mm where it's virtually distortion free, it's never really showed in most of the lanscape shots I take, just architecture and the like. Good to here Adobe supporting Sigma lenses as wellI regard any distortion at 10mm to be part of the character of the lens. 10 mm is really quite wide for digital.

No need for that RR, Sigma has done everything for you and there is a profile for all modern sigma lenses.

I use PTLens to correct barrel and pincushion distortion. It recognises all the AF lenses I've tried it with. As I recall it comes as a plugin for PS, Lightroom and Aperture. Well worth the $25 IMO, especially if you aren't about to splurge for CS5.

So does PTLens have the profiles or does CS5 have them? I didn't even know CS5 was out yet!

I also use PTlens, excellent software...
I also previously owned the Sigma 10-20 but personally didn't like the distortion "characteristics" so sold it - PTlens whilst great for other lenses wasn't really able to fully correct it either.

PTLens has the profiles. I'm using as a plugin for Aperture, but there is also a standalone app as well as LR and PS plugins.

Sigma and Adobe have worked-together to do an almost complete list of lenses for CS5 (with CR 6.1) and Lightroom 3 (when it comes out...). Its not in the public Beta version, but you can create and share your own profiles already I believe - see Adobe Labs)
Basically Adobe will knock-out 3rd party lens correction addons with this if they support it properly.

Still shooting in the dark (literally and metaphorically)...

great to hear LR3 also gets it, wasn't sure but it would be wonderful.
Hopefully pentax take the time to make some profiles after all they have them already for the K7 and the KX.
With the K7 you also get the K20D so they only need to do the K10D and they would have almost all cameras of the last 3 years.
