Hehe It's probably one of the most sought-after lenses among collectors, but the irony is that not many people even KNOW about it. There's probably people out there who own one and don't even realise just what they've got

Slightly of topic but I have a number of manual focal lenses and wonderd if some of the members might point out the best use of the lens.
135mm 50mm 35mm and a 28mm all old manual focus look forward to any feed back.

Thanks for all the comments, links and information.
I shall now start a new 'saved search' on ebay and see what pops up.
A nice long lens for garden birds is the first on the list. I currently have the 60-250 so I'll keep my eyes open for something 400+.
Who knows something might just crop up when the wife is out and the money's in the bank

Not much old, good glass out there at 400mm+ I think, but good luck. Some long Takumars were made, they're probably your best bet but they won't be very cheap and will be very heavy I imagine.

Heavy wouldn't be a problem as it will mainly be used in the garden.

Keep a lookout for the Tamron 200-500 model 31A lens. Very heavy and bulky but good glass and with a PKA adapter gives you full auto use. It won't be cheap though, and neither will the PKA adapter.

Speaking of rare, a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to snag a copy of the second rarest K-mount lens ever produced
Still hunting for the #1 rarest though, only ever seen one for sale and that was in Japan
