Why does everyone rate MPB?

I have just received a quote from MPB for two current Pentax lenses, both in excellent condition with boxes and original caps etc., for very low prices. For a 28-105mm lens currently new £629 I was offered £225, and for a 50mm f2.8 macro lens currently new £399 I was offered just £100. MPB has neither of these in stock with which to make a comparison but even with their markup I would have expected at least double these. It cannot be just Pentax as earlier in the year I was offered similarly ridiculous price markdowns for a Leica and Lee Filters. These two lenses have been on eBay for a while at more realistic prices; I am not giving them away but if anyone is interested and would like to make an offer then please take a look.

Noticed recently that offer prices on some items have dropped, especially resulting of the Canikon flight to Mirrorless. My Nikon D810 got a valuation of £460 for a good condition (which I hope they will 'upgrade') but it was £620 a few months ago. The MBD-12 grip has halved in price. Yet, the K1 holds its' value much better given the prices they command on here.

Never got on with the D810, bought it after I got the K-1, yet it is the K-1 that was 'right' out of the box. K-1 brought me joy but the D810 frustration and as I am unlikely to go on a photographic trip requiring 2 full-frame bodies until next October I though now was the time to get some money rather than having the camera sit around for 10 months doing nothing..(that strategy has led to the sale of 2x 300/4 lenses, my D-FA macro as well).
