Seems SD cards haven't lasted too long:

From the Greater-China Press (my favourite daily read):

"Memory card assembler Chip Hope will extend its presence in the memory SIB packaging sector in 2006. The company has also rolled out a new Lumistar memory card series during mid Dec with Pentax adopting the memory for its digital cameras."

I think you'll find that "SIB" is an acronym for Systems Integration Board.
They are a "memory assembly" company - taking chips and packaging them into something tangible and useable... probably SD format

But I could be wrong...

I think SD cards will be around for some time. They are used in a wide range of devices from Cameras to PDA's mobile phones and GPS units. They are small, without being small enough to lose, and there is even a variety with a built-in USB connector. Just expect the capacities to get larger <8 GB !
