Well yesterday my most used camera was my LX with the FB-1/FC-1 viewfinder and a powerwinder. Reason? BOTH batteries in the K10D were flat! Having said that, a Canon DSLR user could not believe how wonderful the viewfinder was I guess LX-style interchangeable viewfinders are unlikely on a DSLR but it would sure be nice

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

As for the K7 will wait and see. I would like higher dynamic range, better low light use and faster focus, these points have nearly lead me to jump to a N**** D700 but I keep hanging in there because of the Pentax kit I already have and to be different from most.
Why the D700 out of interest? As for the K7 will wait and see. I would like higher dynamic range, better low light use and faster focus, these points have nearly lead me to jump to a N**** D700 but I keep hanging in there because of the Pentax kit I already have and to be different from most.
If I were to jump it would have been to the D300 (not that I think there is a need now), the lenses needed to get the bestout of the D700 cost an absolute fortune.

If I were to make the jump and all the expense I would go for the full frame over DX version.

Couldn't vote for more than one in the poll.
No problem, after all the GX's are only K's in a different coat.

Am waiting for my new K200D to be delivered tomorrow, so even though I haven't got it yet I still voted in the poll.
Can't wait to start my journey of discovery with a Pentax DSLR. In the end I just went for the one which felt right for me as I was fed up with endless debates about which camera to buy!

When I was 14 I bought a Zorki-4 rangefinder (f2-22, 1/1000 shutter) my pal bought a Zenit-B SLR (f2.8, 1/500 shutter). I won, until I saw he could advance a full frame by moving this lever thing, once!
Wanted an SLR ever since.
Aged 50 I thought I'd treat myself to a proper camera. On advice from a guy in Jessops (honest) I bought K100D +18-55 kit and the ubiquitous 70-300 Tamron 1:2 macro. Along with all the other "essentials" now also have Sigma 30mm f1.4 EX DG and Sigma 10-20mm EX DG which is on the body nearly all the time for indoor surveying work.
A couple of years later and I'm ready for the plunge for something with more switches/buttons and less need to dive into menus.
From reviews read so far (all very positive) the K-7 seems to fit the bill.

Have a *istDS a K20D and a Z1 but the poll will not take more than one, or will it?
