Here's one I did earlier - Brown Eyes. Its the sort of shot we can look forward to at Whitby.

You won't need your 300mm Ken. the Goths let you get in close up.

Too right, watching David in action last year was an eye opener, any nearer and the lens would have been up their noses

Too right Alan. The Goths are there to be photographed. No point lurking half a mile away. Here's one of me in action at the Goths Festival early last year. It was taken by my Durham PS friend Royston Thomas, please excuse his Canon on a Pentax site. Note he is skulking behind the subject while I confront her face on.

This isn't as intrusive as might appear Tim. I always keep talking to the person I'm photographing and when I'm using a wide angle lens I explain why I'm in close. They always seem happy with that but if they were uneasy I'd back away. I'm further back with a tele-zoom.

Well theres little more than two weeks to go folks and it looks like Saturday is the day to be there if you want to meet up with as many members as possible, no doubt it will be 10:00am at the bottom of the steps again, the ones to the church & Abbey that is
I guess we'll probably be hanging around there till about 10:30 grabbing snaps and waiting for latecomers.
If you fancy going but aren't sure of your arrival time then drop me a PM and we'll work something out for a later scheduled meeting point/time, or even just swap mobile numbers.
Corsets and make up are optional

Having missed the Hartlepool meet I for one will be heading back to Whitby for the Gothic Weekend. Planning to do the Saturday only, dawn until dusk (or at least quite late).
Hope to see some of you there!
