Just got back to Durham. Here's my first offering from the Goths Festival. I got in close for this one with the DA*16-50mm lens at 16mm.
It was good to meet quite a few Pentax Forum friends again.

It's important to talk to your subject to put them at ease...

And a few more from me:

We couldn't decide if these girls were of legal age to photographed without their parent consent

Though some girls took thier mums along, just imagine bringing your first boyfriend home, "Oh by the way, Mum is a Vampire"

We even ran into Old Abe Lincoln and his consort.

And was I the only one to do a bit of detail work?

Best line I heard all day.

I was up at the abbey around mid day. The area was packed with Canon users who seemed to be organising a fashion shoot of sorts. My wife was close to me as we also took shots whilst the girls posed.

I asked her "did you put new film in your camera"? (a Canon Ixus 870IS).

One of the Canon users looked over and then said "you don't need film in that mate, its digital". To which I said "Oh, right, thanks for that".

I was stood holding three DSLR's.

I hope the penny dropped with him. The wife just smiled.

Regards

I doubt it .. he probably had a good laugh about it down the pub with his mates a bit later on.
