which flash gun to choose?

The middle power switch setting has a little dot below it, next to which is the magic word 'wireless'. You set the power switch to that mid position for wireless use and to the extreme right for on-camera use.
When the power switch is set to wireless, the slider below becomes effective and sets the wireless mode. Master, Controller, Slave.
I found a couple of times that my flash wasn't pushed fully in to the hot shoe. I suspect you did the same.

I found the shoe to be an extremely tight fit when the flash was new, it had to go on and off around 30-40 times before it started sliding nicely into position, during that time I'd often find I hadn't pushed it fully onto the shoe so if that's your problem you certainly won't be the first!

Next question!
I seem to be getting inconsistant results with the P-TTL flash mode setting, sometime well lit, then very underexposed, I have iso set to 100 and on green auto button.
When I set up the A mode setting on flash, though more fiddly, I had correct well lit results.
I thought my K10D was going to be fully compatible with P-TTL on this flash gun and to make life easy?
I have noticed my Firmware is still at 1.11, would that make any difference?
Any suggestions gratefully received
Lilly

Lilly - read my sticky thread HERE.
It may help to upgrade the firmware.
However, as far as I can tell, P-TTL aims to keep the highlights exposed correctly. But DO read the whole thread.
There may be more to it... but I've been puzzling over P-TTL since the *ist-D was first released

I've done it several times
Power switch:
* OFF
* ON - WIRELESS
* ON
(it's in the manual!)
When attached to the hotshoe it doesn't matter which "ON" you use - the camera overrides it. When trying to fire it remotely from the K10D pop-up flash you will need to use the middle setting.
(Plus you'll need to check the Slave Mode setting on the AF360. See my sticky note )
