That's a very effective image, and I do like the way the b&w gives it impact and a 'reportage' style.
You asked for C&C, so I'll say that I'm not sure about the amount of space above the head. You could try cropping that area to about half-way between the top of the head and the top of the frame, this would reduce the slight distraction of the white area on the right.

Very nice, I agree with the cropping suggestions. Depth of field is just right for this, taking the shot from above is not usually recommended in portraiture, works OK here though, I would maybe burn the light part on the right hand side of the shot.

you got it...i love the reportage style,
i dind't crop this pic..because the space above..give some tridimesionality...to the kid.. and show a little bit where we were..
but now..i try to crop as you said!

i kept dark the hand because it's cut off..do you think..it's better show it?
