Whatever happened to #300?

I am a bit surprised and more than a bit disappointed that after all the hype leading up to the 300th weekly comp there has so far been no acknowledgement whatsoever of the result by the mods here. I see John Riley has commented on the subsequent weekly comp, and on the on-going monthly competition, but the landmark 300th has received no acknowledgement at all. I would have though congratulations were in order for the winner, and the podium places, or am I missing something?

Can it be that my judging, or perhaps even my choice of winner, doesn't meet approval from the powers that be? I put a lot of work into judging that competition, as I have for every competition I have judged on here, which as everyone knows is not always the case with the weekly comps.

I'd appreciate it if one of the mods would explain the total silence since I posted my results? Competition #302 is currently running and Weekly competition #300 is still being advertised under "latest news" on the home page!

aliengrove i also think that some acknowledgement should be shown here as well and your judging in the competition was spot on good job.

I wasn't aware nothing was said, and the prizes were certainly sorted out. I'll have a look and see what happened.

I've had a look and there are certainly lots of nice comments in the competition itself, so maybe I thought it had all been said. I don't comment of every competition because I don't want to reiterate by rote the same phrases. It's nice to give someone else the chance to comment.

Since you've asked though, I thought it was an excellent competition and the turnout was fine in the end. Despite people being a bit shy at first. There were plenty of great shots, the winner was a worthy one and the judging was thoughtful and complete.

The prizes were duly awarded!

I enjoyed judging the competition, and there were a lot of good entries for what was a challenging theme. I guess I was expecting the winner to be announced on the home page, since the competition was (and still is) advertised there in the first place.
